Minor
The psychology minor is designed for students from a variety of majors who want to develop a basic, foundational perspective in the field of psychology. Students have the flexibility to choose the courses that reflect their interests in the field and support their academic and career goals.
To declare the psychology minor, contact your major advisor. Psychology majors cannot declare a psychology minor.
Overview
Credit hours
- The minor requires PSYCH 1100 and a minimum of 15 credit hours, including PSYCH 2300 and four additional psychology courses of your choosing.
- At least 6 credit hours must be at the 3000-level or higher.
Transfer and EM credit
- Students can count no more than 6 total hours of transfer credit or credit by examination.
Overlap with GE requirements
- No more than 6 credit hours can be used for both the GE requirement and the psychology minor.
Grades
- Students must earn at least a C- in a course for it to be counted toward the psychology minor.
- Students must maintain a 2.00 minimum cumulative GPA for all psychology minor coursework.
- Coursework graded Pass/Non-Pass cannot count toward the minor.
- No more than 3 credit hours of coursework graded Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory may count toward the minor.
