Psychology Student Ambassador Program

Psychology Student Ambassadors are enthusiastic, friendly, and dependable psychology students who work as support staff in the department's Undergraduate Advising Office and encourage student involvement in the department.  They assist with events, create social media content, mentor fellow students and more.

Undergraduate Teaching Experience Program

In this teaching apprenticeship program, students learn evidence-based pedagogical skills in the classroom. Apprentices work in university psychology courses, where they strengthen their teaching and leadership skills, build community connections and receive one-on-one mentorship from a department faculty member.

Morning Joe & Dough

Join psychology students, ambassadors, faculty, and staff for free coffee, orange juice, and donuts! These Morning Joe and Dough events are held in the lobby of the Psychology Building and generally begin at 8:30AM. Come early to grab your favorite donut and catch up with fellow members of the psychology department.

Psychology Book Club

The Psychology Book Club invites students to engage in small-group discussions of popular topics in psychology. Participants read one to two books per semester and meet with a faculty member and other Book Club members to discuss the book in detail. Previous titles include: The Age of Empathy by Frans de Waal and The Center Cannot Hold: My Journey through Madness by Elyn Saks. 

To join, watch for an email invitation in late August for autumn semester and late November for spring semester.

Stop! And Think!

Stop! And Think! is a department film and podcast series intended to challenge students to think carefully about the world in which we live. Each screening is relevant not only to the field of psychology, but to everyday life and contemporary issues. A discussion follows.

Psychology Enrichment Program

The Psychology Enrichment Program helps students become more familiar and involved with the Department of Psychology, the advising office and psychology faculty. Events encourage students to meet faculty outside of the classroom while introducing them to topics in the field, career resources, exploration tools and research opportunities.

Psychology Belonging Initiative

The Psychology Belonging Initiative (PBI) aims to help psychology students feel more at home in the Department of Psychology and connected to their peers. We offer programs that facilitate experience sharing and student development.
