PSYCH 5089: Cognitive Aging, Neurodegeneration, and Neuroplasticity
This course will cover changes in adult cognition (emphasis on memory) and the brain (structural and functional MRI) as a result of normal aging and age-related neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's disease). The course will also cover factors that contribute to neuroplasticity and may attenuate decline, such as nutrition, fitness, physical activity, exercise, and videogaming.
Prereq: A grade of C- or above in 2220, 2300, and 3313 or 3513; or a grade of B or above in 3313 and Neurosc 3000, and Neuroscience major; or Grad standing.
