Title: Measurement Invariance Tests for Groups with Factorial-Designed Factors

Abstract: Last semester, Dr. Kate Keeler from Fisher College of Business presented her study and the preliminary analysis results on examining effect of different approaches to survey translation (see below for her presentation title and abstract). My talk is an extension of her previous presentation, in which I will present on the analyses that I have done for her dataset.

In short, the study has four “translation method” factorial-designed factors, and testing groups with several (categorical) factorial-designed factors have not been explicitly discussed or attempted in the literature. I will present two methods that can be used, (1) decision-tree MI approach and (2) Moderated Non-Linear Factor Analysis (MNLFA; Bauer & Hussong, 2009; Bauer, 2017), and discuss their model interpretation and limitations.
