
Bryon Hines is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University. He received his B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Hampden-Sydney College in 2015, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Social Psychology from Ohio University in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He was previously a faculty member at Piedmont University and Bethany College before joining the department in 2023.
Hines' research focuses on agency and intergroup conflict, and how agency perceptions influence perceptions of others, particularly in prejudice-related contexts. His research focuses on topics such as social mobility, socioeconomic status, and free will to further understand how the perceived control we have over our environment shapes our beliefs and actions. He also collaborates with other labs on replication studies in response to ongoing concerns about replication in our field.
